Our Story

Three generations.

A family journey that began in 1948.

It all began in Arnaia, Chalkidiki, in 1948.

That's when Argyris Georgakas bought his first bee skeps and decided to professionally engage in beekeeping.

A decision that at the time concerned only him, but ultimately determined the course of the entire family.

The first generation

Argyris Georgakas — 1948

With his first bee skeps, Argyris Georgakas began to get acquainted with the world of bees through his daily work.

He learned to observe nature, follow the blossoms, and understand the needs of each hive. His knowledge was not acquired through books. It was built year by year, in the mountains and forests of Chalkidiki.

His care for the bees and his insistence on quality established him as an experienced and recognized beekeeper of his time.

With him, a family tradition began that was destined to pass from one generation to the next.

The second generation

Dimitris Georgakas — 1985

In 1985, the reins passed to his son, Dimitris Georgakas.

He didn't just inherit skeps, hives, and tools. He inherited knowledge, responsibility, and an entire attitude towards bees and honey.

With the same passion, he continued and developed his father's work. Decades of daily presence in the apiaries gave him deep knowledge of bees, Greek nature, and the distinct characteristics of each honey.

To this day, he remains active, transferring a lifetime of experience to the next generation.

The third generation

Argyris Georgakas

Today, the founder's grandson, Argyris Georgakas, continues the family journey with his father.

Each, in their own role, participates in the production process, in the selection, packaging, and distribution of products.

The third generation is not limited to preserving what the previous generations created. It invests in organization, modern packaging, outward orientation, and new ways in which Greek honey can reach and be presented to the consumer.

Tradition remains the foundation. Evolution is the way to continue.

Tradition meets the modern era

From the first skeps of 1948, the family business evolved into a modern and organized unit for the production and packaging of honey and bee products.

At our facilities in Arnaia, Chalkidiki, production and packaging are carried out with modern equipment and organized processes.

The company implements a HACCP food quality and safety assurance system and operates in accordance with current Greek and European standards.

For us, evolution does not mean moving away from tradition. It means that the knowledge of three generations is protected and continued with the tools and demands of today's era.

Our philosophy

We believe that the best honey is what the bees themselves create, harvested and packaged with care and diligence in appropriate facilities.

Our responsibility is to produce it, take care of it, and package it in such a way that it retains its character, aroma, and taste.

We don't want to change what nature creates. We want to protect it and offer it as it deserves!

Our goal is to continue the family tradition, offering Greek honey and bee products with consistent quality, clear origin, and a distinct taste identity.

Honey Origins — history becomes experience

Honey Origins was created in Arnaia as the next chapter of this journey.

A place where the skeps, old hives, tools, and family photographs are not kept locked in a warehouse. They are brought back into the light and tell the story of beekeeping's evolution through real objects from our family.

The museum collection is linked to Virtual Reality (VR) technology and honey tasting. Visitors can learn about the past, travel inside the hive, and discover honey through taste.

Honey Origins was not created to preserve our history.

It was created to share it.

From the first skeps to today

Three people. Three generations. More than 75 years of journey.

Working methods changed. Facilities and tools evolved. The responsibility, however, remains the same: to honor what began in 1948 and to create something worth passing on to the next generation.

From Arnaia, Chalkidiki, we continue to promote Greek honey, connecting the experience of the past with the possibilities of today.
